The London-based company sold majority stake to car company Daimler, and also announced plans to merge and rebrand with the latter’s on-demand taxi app Mytaxi (which is also an Uber Clone).  The process of Hailo-Mytaxi is taking a little more time than expected, the launch of mytaxi was officially announced last month. The users were asked to hang tight until further instructions were given on how to migrate their accounts.

The process of migration is now live, with Hailo app users being directed through a personalized link to download mytaxi, sparing them the need to go through the registration process all over again. “They are automatically logged in and their Hailo account details will be ready and waiting, meaning they can start hailing cabs straight away,” the company says.

BARCElONA was the second stop for the merger. The merger was announced in the second city back in January. But the Hailo app hasn’t been switched off entirely either. The aim is to consolidate operations across Europe under the mytaxi brand. “The next step is to migrate Hailo drivers and passengers in Spain. Once this is complete, the Hailo app will cease to exist,” a spokeswoman for the company confirmed.

Across Europe, Mytaxi has about 100,000 registered drivers whose taxis can be hailed through the app, the app is available in more than 50 cities across nine countries. The next country (THE 10th COUNTRY!) Is Greece, due to be added soon after mytaxi acquires local player Taxibeat last month.
